Review: "Bread Bags and Bullies - Surviving the 80s" by Steven Manchester

I have read all of Steven Manchester’s books and love them, so I didn’t think it was possible but he just keeps getting better and better which he has proven with his most recent, Bread Bags and Bullies! This is a walk down memory lane for anyone who grow up in the 80's, whether as a child or parent.

The characters are very real. I have never had a brother but my sister and I fought just like the brothers in the book do. You can also recognize the love that the whole family had for each other, even if their actions seem to prove otherwise. Mr. Manchester covered all the bases of growing up, from puppy loves, to aversion to school, to playing video games.

I highly recommend this book for every age. As an adult reader you will enjoy the antics and reminisce about your own childhood along with the author’s story. A child of the 90's or later will enjoy reading it to get a glimpse into their parents’ childhood and to see that although the times change, a lot stays the same. Cuddle up with a warm blanket and Bread Bags and Bullies and prepare for a trip down memory lane.
