Review: "One Night at the Lake" by Bethany Chase

I loved this book and couldn’t put it down. The plot pulled me in from page one. As the title suggests, one night at the lake an unfathomable disaster strikes three friends, Ollie, June and Leah, that changes their lives forever. Fast forward to present day and one must go back and face the past to try and discern how and why this tragedy took place. What is learned is devastating and may change the course of their lives forever. All that was once believed in is false and they must discern how to go on.

This book is written in one of my favorite writing styles, but Ms. Chase goes a step further. The story is told from the prospective of three different characters and how they perceived the events. This makes the story addicting because all three have completely different personalities and they all have a version to tell. Just when you think you know the outcome, an unforeseen event occurs changing the plot once again.

This book is a page turner and I highly recommend it for your reading list. It can be read and enjoyed by teens to adults. Pick it up as soon as you can but make sure you have time set aside to read it because you will not be able to stop!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I am extremely glad Ballantine Bantam Dell gave me the opportunity to read and review.
