Review: "Operation Hail Storm" by Brett Arquette

This book is not the type of novel that I normally read but it was recommended because it was like a few books in my previous reading history. What a thrill ride, I couldn’t put it down. Marshall Hail is a billionaire that has decided to right the evils in the world, starting with a high ranking official in North Korea. This should be an impossibility but he accomplishes it which brings him to the notice of the president of the United States, CIA and FBI. North Korea is working to put together some major weapons that can kill thousands of people and they need to be covertly stopped and Mr. Hail appears to be just the person to do it. Throw in a beautiful CIA operative and you have the makings for an edge of your seat thriller.

The plot is very timely and could be taken from the news today. It appears that Mr. Arquette has an extensive background or a very good understanding of technology because the book includes references that are advanced. It gives the storyline teeth and makes it believable. He also inserts levity where possible which breaks up the serious nature of the action.

This is a remarkable page-turner and I highly recommend it if you are a lover of thrillers. It can be read and enjoyed by teen to adult readers. Although it can be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone book, it also leaves the door open for a sequel. I will be picking it up.
