Review: "Rule #5" by J. Silence
Although modern, romantic novels are not usually the genre of books that I read, this was recommended by a good friend. I’m so glad I took the time to enjoy this exciting story. The story is told in the first person by Danika Ryan, the main character. She operates her own successful company, a consulting service for men that teaches them how to relate and meet the woman of their dreams. Although she is very effective helping men, she comes with her own plethora of problems that she struggles with in her own personal life. Enter Leo, a drop dead gorgeous client and the sparks fly.
Although the plot of the story is centered on romance, it is not all fluff. It deals with real life problems that everyone faces by jumping to conclusions and the consequences these actions involve. It also deals with trust and the ugly green monster, “jealousy”, and the havoc it can wrought. The characters have depth so you can understand their reactions. The plot moves at a swift pace that keeps you interested.
I will definitely pick up this author’s books again when I am in the mood for this delicious, guilty pleasure. Once you start reading, you won’t want to put it down. Just a word of caution though, this deals with adult situations and is definitely not for the young or teenage reader.
