Review: "Wounded - Rebellion Book #1" by Morgan Wilder

This is a very short piece of historical romance about the Civil War during the Battle of Chancellorsville, Virginia in 1863. It caught my attention because it involves two Union soldiers, Lieutenant Adam Spencer and Private Thomas Hall, one of which is a woman. Although there were some foreseeable segments, there were also sufficient portions involving how a woman could get away with disguising herself as a man and also the reason for doing so. The storyline was also involved enough that it kept me turning pages.

Although short in length, the author spends time on character development and background. You understand the motives of both main characters and how/why they reacted to the situation in the manner they do.

This is definitely not a story for young readers. The story involves an adult situation that is intense. Although I am not a big fan of historical romance, the characters are left in a precarious situation that I will definitely read the next installment to discover the outcome.
