Review: "Corrie Ten Boom Her Story" by Corrie Ten Boom

Corrie ten Boom was a very remarkable woman. She was the first female watch maker in Holland. She lived with her family above the shop her entire life. Her family was always close and had a strong faith. When World War II erupted, her father, sister and she knew they had to do something to save their Jewish neighbors. They started hiding them in their house and through her, a network was established and hundreds of Jewish lives were saved because of their efforts. Because of her extensive work, word escaped concerning what they were doing and her family was arrested and put into prison. Her father was 84 and only lived 10 days. Her sister passed away ten days before her release. Corrie persevered and was released on January 1 1945. Her amazing story and the extraordinary faith of her family is captured in this book.

This is a collection of three stories. The first is called The Hiding Place and details her life from a young child until her release from the concentration camp. The second and third, Tramp for the Lord and Jesus is Victor are collections compiled from all her life experiences. She details trials and tribulations that she has endured and how the Lord was always her focal point and provided. They are overflowing with her love and devotion for the Lord and they are in inspiration to read. They are filled with quotes from the scriptures and cites places in the Bible to turn in times of distress.

I enjoyed this collection very much. Her and her family had a very strong faith and all lived their lives in the service of God. This set can be read individually and you will still glean hope and encouragement. If you are struggling and need to see how God can make a difference in your life, I highly recommend this collection.
