Review: "In Perfect Time (Wings of the Nightingale, #3) by Sarah Sundin
Although this is Number 3 in the series, it can stand alone and is a wonderful read. This is actually two stories in one. The main story is about the pilots and nurses of the 802nd Medical Air Evacuation Transport Squadron Unit during World War II. Most of the events related are true but the characters are fictional. The second theme is how accepting Christ into your life and following His plan, no matter how difficult, can bring you happiness.
I enjoyed all the storylines of this book. I am interested in World War II history and this was a wonderful, informative introduction to this segment of the war. These men and women put their lives on the line to help evacuate the wounded from the war zone. Many lost their lives after being shot down. This story documents some of the trials and tribulations that were endured. It was detailed enough to lay a basis down for understanding but I was not overwhelmed by facts and figures.
The plot following the sharing of faith was very poignant and realistic. It demonstrated that there will always be scoffers but if you stay true to your faith and yourself, Christ will see you through. It illustrates that if you trust and put yourself in His hands, Christ will not let you down.
I recommend this book to anyone interested in WW II history. It is a great place to start your education and the human side of the story will warm your heart.
